Mazomos Routes

Mazomos Routes (formerly RESCAPER+) is an open-source mobile application designed to support participatory mapping and walking-based documentation of cultural landscapes. The app allows users to record routes, add geolocated annotations using text, images, and audio, and reflect on their experiences in place.

Developed through research on heritage, landscape, and commons-oriented practices, Mazomos Routes connects embodied movement in the field with structured digital recording. The platform is intended to support researchers, heritage professionals, educators, and local communities in documenting everyday environments, capturing place-based knowledge, and facilitating collaborative interpretation.

By enabling the sharing and discussion of recorded routes, Mazomos Routes fosters community engagement and contributes to bottom-up processes of heritage-making, co-curation, and landscape awareness across diverse contexts.
